Alice Goldsmith

Alice Goldsmith, age 84 of Beckemeyer, passed away at Aviston Countryside Manor on Sunday, June 16, 2019. 

Ms. Goldsmith was born on August 19, 1934, in Beckemeyer, a daughter of Herman J. and Slinda Jane (nee Reupke) Goldsmith.  Alice worked and Wee-Walker at Trim Foot Shoe Factory for over 34 years, until her retirement in 1987.  She was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Carlyle.  Alice enjoyed crafts and spending time with family. 

Alice is survived by her cousins – Rose Taylor, Charlotte Folmer, Ruth Hansuer, and Jim Meyer; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Slinda Goldsmith and a special friend, Joe Huene.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, June 21, 2019, at St. Mary’s Church in Carlyle with Fr. George Mauck, celebrant.  Interment will follow at McKendree Chapel Cemetery.  Visitation will be held at St. Mary’s Church on Friday, June 21, 2019, from 9:00 – 11:00 A.M. 

In lieu of other offerings, the family suggests donations in her memory to the Beckemeyer Fire Department or to St. Mary’s Church.  Donations will be received at the church or at Zieren Funeral Home.
