Esther Phillips

Esther L. Phillips, age 60 of Carlyle, died Tuesday, June 20, 2006 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis after a sudden illness. She was born in St. Louis, MO on March 21, 1946, a daughter of Lester G. & Rintha "Pat" (Riley) White. She married Kenneth D. Phillips on Sept. 18, 1964 in Madison, and he survives in Carlyle. Also surviving is her mother, Rintha "Pat" White of Carlyle; a son, Ken D. Phillips of Granite City; a brother, Lester E. White, Sr. & wife Donna of Carlyle; 4 grandchildren, Kenny, Misty, Shannon & Brittany, and 2 great grandchildren, Kennedy and Joshua. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, June 24 at Zieren Day Funeral Home in Carlyle, with Rev. Terry Russell, officiating. Interment will follow in McKendree Chapel Cemetery near Keyesport. Friends may call at Zieren Day Funeral Home on Thursday from 6PM until 8PM, on Friday from 4PM until 8PM, and Saturday from 8AM until service time. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Mrs. Phillips are suggested to the donor's favorite charity.
