Helen J. Hollenkamp

Helen J. Hollenkamp, age 93 of Carlyle, passed away at the Carlyle Healthcare Center on Monday, September 17, 2018. 

Mrs. Hollenkamp was born on August 6, 1925, in Carlyle, Illinois, a daughter of the late Walter and Elizabeth (Kohlbrecher) Hodapp. She married John H. Hollenkamp in Carlyle on February 13, 1946, and he preceded her in death on February 15, 1996. 

Mrs. Hollenkamp is survived by a daughter – Nancy Hollenkamp of Carlyle; 2 sons – John G. Hollenkamp and wife Debbie of Centralia and Don Hollenkamp of Carlyle; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; and a sister – Marilyn Miller and husband Ed of Carlyle. 

In addition to her parents and her husband, Helen was preceded in death by a son – Ron Hollenkamp; a daughter-in-law – Silina Hollenkamp; a great grandson – Brayden Voss; and 4 brothers. 

Mrs. Hollenkamp was a homemaker, and she loved traveling, shopping, and dining out.  She was a member of St. Mary’s Church. 

Funeral services for Mrs. Hollenkamp will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 20, at Zieren Funeral Home in Carlyle with Fr. George Mauck, officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Zieren Funeral Home on Thursday morning from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m.

Memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be received at the funeral home.
