Janet Ann Twenhafel, age 77 of Centralia, passed away at her home on Tuesday, November 19, 2019.
Janet was born in Centralia on February 24, 1942, a daughter of Alvin W. and Edna Anna Emma (Knolhoff) Twenhafel. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and enjoyed attending the Kaskaskia Workshop for over 37 years. Janet also loved working puzzles, and her house was decorated with the puzzles she put together. Janet was never one to complain, and she faced all the challenges in her life with a smile.
Janet is survived by her sisters – Earlene Lange and husband Melvin, and Doris Simpson, all of Centralia; her nieces and nephews – Bruce Lange, Melissa Winkeler and husband Dale, Dennis Lange, Michael Lange and wife Geonesa, Travis Simpson and wife Sara, and Todd Simpson and wife Erin; and many great nieces and great nephews. She is also survived by an aunt – Irene Faulstich; her special friends – Martha and Deb; and many other friends who cared for Janet and toucher her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents – Alvin and Edna Twenhafel; a brother-in-law – Charles Simpson; and several aunts and uncles.
A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, November 22, 2019, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hoffman, with Rev. Mark Hofferber, officiating. Interment will follow at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 – 11:00 A.M. on Friday morning prior to the service.
Expressions of sympathy in memory of Janet are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church or to the Kaskaskia Workshop and will be received through Zieren Funeral Home in Carlyle.
