Janice Fisher Obituary

Janice Fisher, age 79 of Carlyle, passed away at the Carlyle Healthcare Center on Wednesday, November 13, 2019. 

 

Mrs. Fisher was born in Bond County on May 28, 1940, a daughter of Cecil and Mildred (nee Moore) Peddicord.  She married John Fisher at the Greenville First Baptist Church on April 16, 1960, and he survives in Carlyle. 

 

Mrs. Fisher is also survived by her daughter – Debra Kay Gough and husband Frank of Ashmore, Illinois; a grandson – Grant Franklin Gough of Kansas, Illinois; a sister – Wilma Bauer and husband George of Smithboro, Illinois; a brother – Layton Peddicord and wife Judy of Greenville; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, and friends. 

 

She was preceded in death by her parents – Cecil and Mildred Peddicord; her mother-in-law and father-in-law – Matthew and Jessie Fisher; her sisters-in-law – Norma McClaren, Helen Fisher, Darlene Fisher, and Linda Fisher; her brothers-in-law – Edward McClaren, Lloyd Fisher, and Wilson Fisher; and a niece – Shirley (McClaren) Beyes. 

 

Janice attended Mulberry Grove High School and graduated from Greenville High School.  She was a hard-working farm wife who took pride in and enjoyed maintaining the family farmstead.  Janice loved watching her grandson’s activities and sporting events.  She also enjoyed cooking and taking care of her family.  Janice attended Hopewell Methodist Church and the Keyesport Methodist Church. 

 

A Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, November 18, 2019, at Zieren Funeral Home in Carlyle with Pastor Will Fairbanks, officiating. Interment will follow at McKendree Chapel Cemetery near Keyesport.  Visitation will be held at Zieren Funeral Home on Sunday, November 17, 2019, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM and on Monday, November 18 from 9:00 – 10:00 AM. 

 

Expressions of sympathy in memory of Mrs. Fisher are suggested to the Keyesport Methodist Church or to the Warrior Nation Cancer Foundation.  Warrior Nation is a charity based in Vernon, IL that services Clinton, Bond, Marion and Fayette Counties.  Warrior Nation provides financial assistance to those fighting cancer to help with day to day expenses.  Memorial donations will be received at Zieren Funeral Home.
