Robert Ford, Sr. Obituary

Robert E. Ford, Sr., age 74 of Keyesport, passed away at his home on Monday, November 11, 2019. 

 

Mr. Ford was born in Nebraska on April 7, 1945, a son of the late William and Geneva (Miner) Ford.  He married Mary A. Knight in Centerville on August 25, 1962, and she preceded him in death on June 5, 2014.

 

Mr. Ford is survived by his children – George Ford and wife Chris, Robert Ford, Jr. and wife Elaina, Jeffrey Ford, Bill Ford and wife Chris, and Kansas Battles and husband Darren; 11 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren; his in-laws; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. 

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and a brother – William Ford. 

 

Mr. Ford worked as a self-employed carpenter.  He will always be remembered as a great father, grandfather, and a hard worker.  He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and camping. 

 

A memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM on Friday, November 15, 2019, at Zieren Funeral Home in Carlyle.  Interment will follow at McKendree Chapel Cemetery at a later date.  Visitation will be held at Zieren Funeral Home on Friday, November 15, from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. 

 

Expressions of sympathy in memory of Mr. Ford are suggested to the Wounded Warrior Project and will be received at Zieren Funeral Home.
