Adele Roane

Adele S. Roane, age 88 of Carlyle, died on Monday, July 24, 2006, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Breese. She was born in New Madrid, Missouri on August 21, 1917, a daughter of Fred and Celia (Nee Lewis) Scott. She married Dr. Robert D. Roane on May 11. 1940 in Winfield, Missouri and he survives in Carlyle. Mrs. Roane is also survived by a son, Robert Roane & wife Linda of Breese; 2 daughters, Maribeth Giebelhausen and husband Eric of Jacksonville, Illinois and Cathy Mabry and husband David of Taylorville, Illinois; 4 grandchildren, John Roane and wife Sharon, Michael Giebelhausen and wife Elissa, Mark Mabry and wife Laura and Katie Mabry and 3 great grandchildren, Hailey, Hannah and Clayton Roane. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Nancy Riley. Mrs. Roane was a registered nurse. She was a graduate of Missouri Baptist School of Nursing in St. Louis. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Carlyle, and a member of the Martha Circle at the church. She was a charter member of the St. Joseph's Hospital Auxiliary and was also a member of the Clinton County Medical Society Auxiliary. Mrs. Roane was a former member of the Carlyle Park Board. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 27, 2006, at Zieren-Day Funeral Home in Carlyle, with Rev. Al Simonson officiating. Burial will be in Carlyle Cemetery. Friends may call Zieren Day Funeral Home on Wednesday July 26, 2006 from 5-8 Pm and on Thurs. from 9:00 AM until Service time. Expressions of sympathy in memory of Mrs. Roane may be made to St. Joseph's Hospital or to the First United Methodist Church in Carlyle and they will be received at the funeral home.
