Anna Lee Davenport Obituary

Anna Lee Davenport, age 95 of Carlyle, passed away at the Carlyle Healthcare and Senior Living in Carlyle, IL on Saturday, June 25, 2022. 

 

Mrs. Davenport was born in Carlyle on November 5, 1926, the daughter of Herbert and Leona (Zachry) Sharp.  Anna Lee married Charle Davenport on October 21, 1946, and he preceded her in death on July 21, 1989.  She was also preceded in death by her parents; her sister Mildred Amos, and her nephew - Barry Amos. 

 

Anna Lee is survived by a son - Gary A. Davenport and significant other Kelly D. Meyer of Frogtown; her grandson - Cory A. Davenport and wife Heather of St. Louis.  Additional survivors include her niece, Sally Joos and husband Steve of Dixon, IL and nephew Barry Amos (deceased) and wife Anita “Penny” of Sparta, IL.

 

Mrs. Davenport was a secretary at the Moran Shoe Company and later at the Unit School District #1 until her retirement in 1986.  She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Carlyle and was quite active in many of their activities.  

 

In accordance with her wishes, she will be cremated and a private burial service will be held at a later date.

 

Memorial donations in her memory are suggested to the First United Methodist Church in Carlyle and will be received through Zieren Funeral Home, 1111 Clinton Street, Carlyle, IL 62231.
