Charles H. Foster, Jr.

Charles H. “Buddy” Foster, Jr. age 81 of Carlyle, died at his home on Monday, August 24, 2020. 

Mr. Foster was born in Hoyleton, Illinois on March 21, 1939, a son of Charles and Irene (Fissler) Foster.  He married Charlotte Meyer in Salem on March 21, 1959, and she survives in Carlyle. 

In addition to his wife Charlotte, Mr. Foster is also survived by his children – Curtis Foster and wife Vickie of Bartelso, Charles Foster, III and wife Lenora of Salem, Carl Foster and wife Sherry of Sandoval, Charlene Kampwerth and husband Gary of Carlyle, Craig Foster and wife Gina of Beckemeyer, Chad Foster and wife Tonya of Carlyle, and Cheryl Foster of Carlyle; 19 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild; 2 sisters – Norma Spanley and Shirley Crepps; and a brother – Roland Foster.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother – Kenny Fissler. 

Buddy had worked at Text Tile, Bruemmer Lumber, Quip Industries, West Access Marina, and Foster Salvage.  He had many hobbies, including trading, rebuilding cars, traveling to car shows and to gun shows, watching old western movies, and horses.  Mr. Foster was a hard worker who loved his family and spending time at gatherings with friends and relatives.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, August 29, 2020, at the Beckemeyer Park (by the grade school).  A visitation and time for fellowship will follow the service.
