Larry Jurgensmeyer Obituary

Larry M. Jurgensmeyer, age 66 of Carlyle, passed away at his home on Wednesday, September 16, 2020.

 

Mr. Jurgensmeyer was born on July 13, 1954, a son of Carl and Elton (nee Qualls) Jurgensmeyer.  He married Nancy Foster on November 3, 1973, at St. Mary’s Church in Carlyle and she survives in Carlyle.  In addition to his wife Nancy, Larry is also survived by his daughters – Heather Kleiboeker and husband Alan and Kelsey Dulle and husband Curt; 5 cherished grandchildren - Carter & Alexa Kleiboeker, Quinn, Eli, & Baby Dulle; his siblings - Peggy Coen, Donna Simonton and husband Bill, and Mike Jurgensmeyer and wife Donna; his in-laws – Ken and Connie Foster, Judy Mensen, Rick and Michele Foster, Randy and Christy Foster, and Scott Foster; and many beloved nieces and nephews. 

 

Mr. Jurgensmeyer was preceded in death by his parents - Carl and Elton Jurgensmeyer, his mother-in-law and father-in-law - James and Dorothy Foster; and infant daughter - Trish Jurgensmeyer; two nephews - Brett Foster and Kevin Simonton; a niece - Courtney Foster; and 2 brothers-in-law - Michael Mensen and Jack Coen.

 

Larry was a devoted husband for 46 years, and a loving father, brother, brother-in-law, and an amazing grandpa.  He loved spending time with his family, taking car rides, and trying new restaurants.  After spending many years as a truck driver, Larry enjoyed giving directions and finding shortcuts.  He was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Carlyle. 

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, September 21, 2020, at St. Mary’s Church in Carlyle. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.  Visitation will be held at Zieren Funeral Home from 2:00 – 5:00 PM on Sunday, September 20, 2020, and at St. Mary’s Church from 9:00 – 10:30 A.M. on Monday morning.  All in attendance at the visitation and Mass will be required to wear a mask and maintain social distance.  The church is limited to 100 people in attendance.
