Louis P. Barbaglia

Louis P. Barbaglia, age 67 of Carlyle, passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese on Monday, October 16, 2023. 

Mr. Barbaglia was born in St. Louis, Missouri on November 14, 1955, a son of the late Louis H. and Naomi (nee Turin) Barbaglia.  He married Marilyn Wuebbels, and she survives in Carlyle. 

In addition to his wife Marilyn, Louis is survived by his children – Kortney Hohmeyer and husband Alex, Abbie Potter and husband Sawyer, and Dustin Barbaglia and wife Joy; his step-sons – Jason Hanson and wife Dottie, and Chris Hanson; his grandchildren – Ryan Hohmeyer and Oliver Potter; and a sister – Annie Harmon. 

Mr. Barbaglia was preceded in death by his parents – Louis and Naomi Barbaglia, and a step-grandson – Dade Hanson. 

Louis spent his professional career as a truck driver for Icon.  He logged many miles over the years and made many friends along the way.  When he wasn’t driving a truck, Louis was most likely riding in his beloved Jeep.  Mr. Barbaglia was a kindhearted soul who took care of everyone and made sure everyone’s needs were met.  He especially enjoyed doting on his grandchildren, Ryan and Oliver.  Louis also loved his dogs and watching ducks.

No funeral services will be held.  Memorial donations may be made to the Clinton County Animal Shelter or to the charity of the donor’s choice.  Donations will be received through Zieren Funeral Home, 1111 Clinton Street, Carlyle, IL 62231.
