Marjorie Robertson, 80 of Carlyle, born May 4th, 1941 in Brownsville, TN, passed away on August 3rd, 2021. Marjorie was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and aunt.
Marjorie enjoyed going to meetings at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness. She was always prepared for the meetings ahead of time. She enjoyed board games and playing cards, and especially winning at those games. Family members called her Ree, and she loved listening to music like R&B. Ree also loved watching old western movies on TV, cooking, and baking for family and friends.
Ree worked as a caregiver for Community Care in Salem and New Baden. She retired in 2003 from Clinton Manor in New Baden.
Ree was preceded in death by her mother, Vera Robertson; her father, John Robertson Jr; two brothers, Herbert and John, III; and two great grandchildren, Layla and Aalyiah Lanton.
Marjorie is survived by two daughters, Margie Boles of Jackson, TN, and Cynthia Williams of St. Louis, MO; two sisters, Thelma Kinnes of Brownsville, TN, and Margret Marie Robertson of Ocala, FL; three grandchildren, Shaneka D. Henderson, Evita A. Lanton, and Gregory A. Williams Jr. (Deezandra); a great grandson, Tyrone “Trae” Henderson, III; and a great granddaughter, Taelor Henderson. Ree also has three special nieces and a nephew, Pamela Robertson, Brenda Robertson, Johnnie Robertson Crossland, and Craig Robertson. They stayed in contact with Ree every day to make sure she had what she needed. Brenda Robertson was also her hair stylist and made sure Ree’s hair was cut and styled her way. At the end of conversating with Ree, it was always “We love you very much.” Ree had a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that she cherished dearly.
Visitation will be held at Zieren Funeral Home in Carlyle on Saturday, August 14, 2021, from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. The visitation will be livestreamed, and the link to the stream is available here.
