Marlene L. Schierschwitz

Marlene L. Schierschwitz, age 87 of Centralia, passed away at her home on Wednesday, November 23, 2022.   

Ms. Schierschwitz was born in Belleville, Illinois on January 18, 1935, a daughter of Gerhard and Adelia (nee Haeuber) Schierschwitz.  Marlene worked at the Breese Cafe in Breese and was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Ferrin.  She enjoyed being outdoors, especially gardening and mowing grass.  She also loved watching television and listening to records.  Marlene was an avid dog lover.  

Marlene is survived by her brother – Gerhard Paul Schierschwitz of Lakeland, FL; a niece – Sheila Donathan of Coulterville, IL; her nephews – John Donathan of Dietrich, IL, Dale Donathan of Gary, IN, and John Flentge of Perryville, MO.    

She was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister – Joan Catherine Donathan. 

A graveside service will be held at Elmwood Cemetery in Centralia, IL at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 29, 2022, with Rev. Jonathan Jennings, officiating.
