Robert D. Clark

Robert D. Clark, age 77 of Carlyle, passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Breese, IL.

Mr. Clark was born in Centralia, Illinois, on June 13, 1945, a son of Troy and Iva (Putney) Clark.  He married Ellen Jane Spurgeon and she preceded him in death on March 13, 2018.

Robert is survived by his children – LaVonda Walls (James), Paul Clark (Veronica), and Rachel Harris (Edmond); her grandchildren – Ryan, Eric, Brooklyn, Destiny, and Sean; and siblings – Edward Clark, Alice Clark, and Beverly Fechtler.

He was preceded in death by his parents - Troy and Iva Clark; his wife - Jane Clark; and his siblings – Lawrence Clark and Gerald Clark.

Mr. Clark was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Carlyle.  He was a faithful volunteer in many roles at the church and was asked to speak at services when needed.  He was a veteran of the United States Army, and former employee at Strat-O-Span in Breese. Bob enjoyed painting and drawing, golfing, and fishing.  He will be dearly missed by his family, his friends and his cat, Wilson, who has a home with Rachel now.

A Memorial service will be held at the Carlyle First Baptist Church at 12:00 Noon on Friday, October 7, 2022, with Rev. Scott Broughton, officiating.
