Ryan P. Koehler

Ryan P. Koehler, age 50 of Sandoval, passed away at home on June 11th, 2023.

Ryan was born in Breese, Illinois on May 20th, 1973, to Philip and Melissa (Essenpreis) Koehler.  Ryan was a great dad, a loving son, and a devoted brother. He loved his family dearly and was especially proud of all his children. Ryan was known for being an excellent cook who loved to serve his family large meals. Ryan was also an accomplished guitar player, and previously had a band with his two older sons. He also raised quail and pheasants for several years. Ryan found much joy in woodwork, riding his motorcycle, and collecting antique tools.

Ryan is survived by his children, Kole Koehler, Tori Koehler, Tryke Koehler, and Brady Koehler; his mother, Melissa Koehler; his brother, Erik Koehler; his aunts and uncles, Gerri Keilbach, David and Sue Essenpreis, Vanessa and Kevin Hilmes, Mike and Jane Koehler, Kenny and Marilyn Koehler, Rick and Kay Koehler, Mark and Beth Koehler, and Frank Koehler; the mothers of his children, Ann Brendel and Cora Rhynes; and many loving cousins and friends.

Ryan was preceded in death by his father, Philip Koehler, his grandparents, Moon and Marlene Koehler, and Mel and Martha Essenpreis, his aunts and uncles, Marfy and Larry Richard, and Dale Keilbach; and his cousins, Ken Keilbach and Chet Koehler.

A Memorial service will be held at Zieren Funeral Home on Friday, June 16, 2023, at 7:00 P.M.  Visitation will be held at Zieren Funeral Home on Friday, June 16, 2023, from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M.  Memorial donations in memory of Mr. Koehler may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice and will be received through Zieren Funeral Home, 1111 Clinton Street, Carlyle, IL 62231.
