Scott D. Luebbers, age 48 of Nashville, passed away at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis on Saturday, October 10, 2020.
Mr. Luebbers was born in Breese on January 24, 1972, a son of Robert and Myrna (Potts) Luebbers. He married Maria Elmendorf in Carlyle on January 28, 1998, and she survives in Nashville.
In addition to his wife Maria, Scott is also survived by his parents – Robert and Myrna Luebbers; his children – Jennifer Luckey and fiancé Andrew Straughter of Hoyleton, Brianna Luebbers and fiancé Seth Delong of Swansea, Alyssa Shafran of Centralia, Maranda Luebbers and fiancé William Ortmann of St. Louis, and Chayne Claybourn and fiancé Summer Melton of Centralia; his grandchildren – Kaylynn, Madylynn, and Jensen Luckey, Kree and Kloe Shafran, and Aubree and Colby Ortmann; his brothers and sisters – Diane Duckworth and husband David of Flippin, Arkansas, Michael Luebbers and wife Shirlene of Hoffmann, Phyllis Kraus and husband Dale of Dyersburg, Tennessee, Denise Voss and husband Glen of Carlyle, and Joan Beckemeyer and husband Curt of Champaign, Illinois; and many special nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Krue Shafran.
Scott was a devoted husband, a loving father, and was a great friend who would do anything for his family and friends. He was currently working as a detective for AIS in Nashville and had worked as a firefighter and a paramedic. Scott’s greatest joy was spending time with his family, and he also loved hunting, fishing, 4-wheeler riding, and St. Louis Cardinals baseball. He loved his children and his grandchildren. Scott also loved life, as he was diagnosed with diabetes at age 10 and received a double transplant at age 38.
A Funeral service will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, October 14, 2020, at Zieren Funeral Home in Carlyle with Fr. George Mauck, officiating. Visitation will be held at Zieren Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. Please wear a facemask if you can, follow social distance recommendations, and refrain from handshakes and hugs.
