Sharon Diehl

Sharon Diehl, age 75 of Shattuc, passed away at SSM St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia on Saturday, January 14, 2023. 

Mrs. Diehl was born in Rock Island, Illinois, on January 7, 1948, a daughter of the late Edwin and Martha (Felty) Weaver.  She married Steven F. Diehl in 1997, and he survives in Shattuc.

In addition to her husband Steve, Sharon is also survived by two daughters – Jennifer Shook and husband John of Florida, and Rachel Ford and husband Chris of Illinois; three grandchildren – Matthew Shook, Christopher Ford, and Katelyn Ford; two brothers – David Weaver and wife Sharon, and James Weaver; and a niece, Laura Morgan and husband Chuck.

Sharon lived in Florida for many years, where she was in the Moose Lodge.  After retiring near Carlyle, Sharon and Steve enjoyed spending time at Carlyle Lake as members of the Boulder Yacht Club.  She also loved reading a good book or cooking a delicious meal for family and friends.  More than all else, Sharon loved spending time with her family.

No public services will be held.  In lieu of flowers or other gifts, donations in her memory are suggested to your local church, the Salvation Army, or to the St. Joseph’s Indian School.  Donations will be received through Zieren Funeral Home, 1111 Clinton Street, Carlyle, IL.
